It’s time to change aid, for good.

Congo faces some of the world’s toughest challenges.
Help solve these problems by supporting the brilliance of those living them.

Give Today

Let’s make an impact that lasts.

Outside aid is well-intentioned, but it creates a rotating door of unreliable services. Eastern Congo Initiative empowers local communities to drive their own solutions and prioritize long-term change. Join us in working shoulder-to-shoulder with Congolese communities.

Support Us Today, Build Tomorrow

Together with Congolese innovators, we are revolutionizing how the world approaches humanitarian aid. Our projects don’t end with a grant cycle, but launch from it. Let’s build a brighter future, faster than ever before.

Before launching operations in Zones 9 and 10 supported by @caterpillarinc, we started with testing the water families rely on every day.

Each pouch represents a household’s stored drinking water. The teal color tells a troubling story, indicating dangerously high levels of E. coli.

After just five days of door-to-door assessments, the results were clear: nearly 95% of water sources tested were contaminated.

Today, these two areas are thriving, serving thousands with clean, reliable Asili water.

Because water and health go hand in hand.

Access to safe water is one of the most effective ways to prevent disease, protect children, and strengthen communities.

On World Health Day, we are reminded that true health begins with clean water, made possible through prevention and sustained with dignity.

“I’m grateful for the care and support Asili provides to its patients. The medical treatment is thorough, and the cleanliness is always maintained. We feel like we’re in a safe and welcoming environment, both for ourselves and our children.”

Rehema, a mother and resident of Panzi, choses Asili for her family's healthcare needs.

This water kiosk, built in 2014 during our very first community pilot, tells a powerful story. An entire generation of children here has grown up never knowing life without reliable, clean water.

This is what long-term investment looks like. This is what lasting change feels like.

As World Water Day approaches this weekend, it’s a reminder that access to clean water does not just improve lives, it transforms futures.

International Women's Day is this weekend and this year, we are celebrating our Water Mamas. 💧👩🏾‍💼

We are reminded what leadership, courage, and commitment actually looks like.

Excited to share another one of our upcoming projects for 2026!

In partnership with @worldimpactrotary and Rotary Club Bukavu Amani, we plan to launch a pilot program in South Kivu to support children under five, nearly half of whom face chronic malnutrition.

This initial project will screen and treat ~240 children for moderate acute malnutrition through a community-led approach that boosts early detection, treatment, and follow-up care.

Last year, just 10 days after reopening from conflict-related disruptions, 65 pregnant women lined up for prenatal care at our Mudaka clinic. Their presence spoke volumes, highlighting both the need for care and the deep trust the community places in Asili.

This year, we are taking the next step.

We plan to expand by adding a maternity building directly behind the clinic, creating a safe, accessible space for mothers and newborns. This expansion will help reduce complications, support healthy deliveries, and save lives.

We look forward to what’s ahead and to welcoming even more mothers with the care and dignity they deserve. 💙
